Explore our kaupapa

Whakataetae

We hold two basketball tournaments a year for whānau to participate in.

Our biggest kaupapa is the National Tournament, currently held in January. A week of basketball where whānau, hapū and iwi from across Aotearoa and overseas, come together to connect with each other, represent their iwi, and play basketball.

We also hold a 3×3 tournament. Fast paced and energetic, our 3×3 kaupapa creates another space for whānau to play basketball and develop skills related to 3×3. This tournament is currently held during Matariki, which offers an added experience to celebrate its traditions.

Whiria

Connecting with Indigenous peoples, and peoples around the world through the game. Showcasing Māori talent, sharing our ahurea and building relationships that extend beyond the court.

Āheinga

Creating opportunities through our kaupapa for whānau, hapū and iwi like Hoops in Marae, wānanga, whānau days and other projects that help our people play, learn and connect.

Our impact goes beyond the National Tournament.

The National Tournament is only one part of our story. Our mahi continues year-round through development, connections, cultural exchange and opportunities.
